Women’s EURO 2025 Fan Forum: Fans’ Embassies Step Up Preparations

Football Supporters Europe (FSE) and UEFA co-hosted the Women’s EURO 2025 Fan Forum earlier this week, as preparations continue for this summer’s tournament in Switzerland.

This was the first time a dedicated Fan Forum has been held for a women’s international tournament, and with more Fans’ Embassies set to be active than ever before at a Women’s EURO, the timing could not be more important.

The event brought together Fans’ Embassies, representatives from participating National Associations, and Host Cities to make introductions, establish communication channels, and share information about the upcoming tournament. It gave all parties the chance to better understand each other’s roles and discuss how they’ll work together to support fans on the ground.

Fans’ Embassies had the opportunity to share their perspectives and experiences as well as ask questions to the tournament organisers, reinforcing their vital role in helping fans navigate UEFA Women’s EURO 2025. Building on the experience of last summer’s EURO 2024 Fan Forum, this event underlined the importance of ongoing dialogue between supporters, tournament organisers, and local stakeholders.

FSE National Teams Fans & Membership Coordinator Jussi Hartikainen said: “By introducing Fans’ Embassies to key tournament stakeholders through the Fan Forum, we can help establish clear lines of communication. This will ensure Fans’ Embassies receive reliable, accurate information relevant to the services they offer fellow supporters, whether it’s related to ticketing, practical details about host cities, or fan animations.

“It’s been invaluable for Fans’ Embassies to hear directly from and speak to those whose decisions will impact supporters. Establishing these connections now will play a key role in making the experience smoother for fans following their teams in Switzerland”.

Next Steps

During the tournament, FSE will conduct match observations in each Host City and at the final in Basel. We’ll also support Fans’ Embassies with advice as needed as well as communication, coordination, and dialogue with local and tournament-level stakeholders through the four weeks of the competition.

Additionally, having participated in the Human Rights board for EURO 2024 last year, FSE will also be participating in the Women’s EURO 2025’s Human Rights board to help promote human rights by creating an inclusive and welcoming tournament
